January 2013 closed sales for Aurora, IL shows what our 2nd largest city in IL is facing.  With 103 closed sales and over 50% of them distressed sales (i.e. foreclosures or short sales) Aurora will need continuing upward sales number to clear its distressed property inventory.  52 of the 103 closed sales were foreclosures with short sales bringing in 22 closed sales and traditional sales at 29 closed listings.    Compared to January 2012 where there were 92 closed sales with 38 being foreclosures, 16 short sales and 38 being traditional sales. We are ahead of 2012 numbers which is a trend that continues in outlying areas such as Oswego, Montgomery and Yorkville.
