Kayaking Lido Key's mangrove tunnels, Sarasota style! Last weekend we went for a great paddle through the famous mangrove tunnels on the bay side of Lido Key, just off Sarasota, Florida. Wildlife is abundant, with fish practically jumping in the boat and many species of birds including herons, osprey, and bald eagle. There are five main tunnels that are some heavily canopies by mangroves, it is almost dark inside! After that, we went to Crescent Beach on Siesta Key. 06/29/2010

Sarasota FL's City Island, Longboat Key, and Marina Jack's were sparking last week, and I was treated to another spectacular day of photo opps in Sarasota (June 22) thanks to Sarasota native and wonderful friend, Maureen Williams. Toured a bit of Sarasota last week with Kathleen Herron (@SarasotaDream); specifically Siesta Key, Casey Key and Manasota Key. Kathleen and Nick Herron have been living on and around Casey Key for many years, so they know more than I could ever remember about Sarasota's beautiful barrier isles. Sarasota and Siesta Key, Casey Key, and Manasota Key are world famous for their beaches and waterways, not to mention their unique and mouth-watering restaurants. Kathleen and I ate at Lock 'n Key.
