Winter Wonderland in Phoenix - Snow! Snow in Phoenix? Last Saturday while hiking in the preserve behind our home we were shocked to look up and see snow on the mountains.  Was it a mirage?  Was it just clouds?  Nope. It was snow!  And mind you we've been hiking there for over 30 years and have never seen snow!  Everyone on the trail was excited about the snow as they've never seen snow on those hills either! The winter visitors out hiking were surprised and asked us a lot of questions about winter weather here in Phoenix, which was fun! Every direction we turned there was snow on all the mountains around Phoenix North Valley.
