Happy Cinco de Mayo and Margarita Deals Cinco de Mayo or May 5th, or literally, "Fifth of May" is a celebration held on May 5 of any given year. This date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army's very unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza. In many parts of the United States, Cinco de Mayo is sometimes mistaken to be Mexico's Independence Day which is the most important national holiday in Mexico and is celebrated on September 16. The above info was obtained courtesy of Wikipedia.  Cinco de Mayo is widely celebrated in all of Texas and certainly in Katy and the whole Houston area. Many folks like to eat Mexican food on this day and certainly drink a margarita or two and/or a Corona. There are a fe...

Another happy David Weekley customer! I had two closings last month with some really nice folks. I had been working with them for well over a year. It was really hard to put them on paper and they were so worried as this was their first home. They chose David Weekley after months of research and now we built them  a beautiful home in Silver Ranch. It was my pleasure working with this family  and building them the home of their dreams. Congratulations to the Parthiban Family and thank you for the invite to your housewarming it was my pleasure to attend.

Is it the Port before the Storm Today in Katy TX?  We are supposed to have another monster rain storm hit us and storms are predicted for all this weekend being April 30 and May 1, 2016 here in Katy TX and for the whole surrounding Houston area. As most folks are aware, this area has already been hit hard with massive flooding, property damage, deaths due to a 500 year flood rain storm and other subsequent rain storms which hit here on April 18, 2016 and on other subsequent days. The ground is still saturated.  I got up this morning early for a Saturday ( I only get to sleep in a little on Saturday and Sunday with normal get out of bed time at about 5:30 AM) to take our little dog for her walk. It started raining just as I opened the back door. The streets showed it had already been rai...

100 Day Checkup in Katy TX April 2016 My business plan emphasis for years 2014 thru 2016 has been centered on improving my own health. The reasoning for this type of plan is very simple as if I do not have good health then I cannot be a high performing and functional professional and more importantly a good spouse and/or family member. I owe it to my family to work as hard as I can to improve both my physical and mental health. Numerous years in the past I put major emphasis on professional work on little on my own health. I am right on course for following my own health business plan in the first 100 days of 2016. I have continued to watch closely ( but not as strictly as last year) what I eat and have added more and more organics to the food mix as well as items which are directed tow...

Back in Katy TX after Trip April 2016 We were on vacation and just got back last evening April 27, 2016. We left on Monday April 18, 2016 when the 500 year flood rain storm hit this whole area. We lucked out and were able to make it to the airport and get on a plane. This was no easy feat to say the least under the flood circumstances. Our home in Grand Lakes Katy TX luckily had no damage, however,  we did have water in our front yard higher than it has ever been in the past.  We could not get our cars out of our driveway for several hours that day. Numerous homes and business operations all through this entire Houston area were severely damaged by this and subsequent storms which followed.  I was not able to access my Email during our journey until late in the trip as MSN suspended the...

I answered virtually all flowers make me smile and gives off positive vibes. I found this flower in the picture below in our backyard this morning . New Rock Bed Project in Katy TX Today I have been back to putting a new rock garden on the side of our right hand side of our driveway. We have been ruining the grass on the sides of the driveway every spring when the ground is very soft. Our driveway is too narrow for the sizes of the cars who have to fit here. Backing down the driveway sometimes finds the car in the grass. We try not to park on the street unless its very early in the morning after our new car smacked back in February in front of our home. I was out of ideas of how to keep this area presentable without mud and tire tracks. Looking closely you can see mud and tire tracks still showing on the driveway concrete. If anyone got some ideas I am all ears..  I ran out of the decorative rocks and it is not completed yet. I used...

Commemorative Air Force - Houston Wing Holds Open House April 2016   West Houston Squadron of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) is holding an its annual spring open house. This  open house will be held on Saturday April 16 and Sunday April 17, 2016. The doors will be open each day from 10 AM until 4 PM. My advice is to go early as this shows does draw a good sized crowd every year. Enjoy a plane ride, View numerous aircraft and cars, take pictures and appreciate aircraft from World War II, Korea and today both on the ground and in the air. A Lockheed C-60 paratroop transport plane is onsite. Training and advanced training aircraft, Fighters, Bombers, and Transport planes plus many more will be on site for viewing and enjoying. Some of these aircraft are open so the public can actually g...

Three Month 2016 Market Report for South Katy TX- MLS Area 36 I like to examine year-to-date data throughout any given year and look at year to year comparisons each quarter for discovering market trends. My primary market is South Katy or MLS area 36. Of course I also am interested in MLS 25 or North Katy; MLS area 37 Fort Bend West; MLS 29 Fort Bend-Sugar Land and Stafford plus a few others in Cypress TX. Three months YTD 2016 versus three months YTD 2015 for MLS for South Katy comparison shows some interesting trends. Here are the salient numbers: Units sold in 2016 decreased from 622 in 2015 to 573 during 2016 which is a 7.9 % decrease. At the same time Average prices decreased by approximately 4.7 % from $347,000 to $330,500 during 2016. Median prices also decreased in 2016 by Appr...

Made on Demand Pizza now Opened in Katy,TX Made on Demand or MOD Pizza recently held in March, 2016 its Grand Opening in Katy, TX. This company sells personal sized pizza’s that are assembled and/or modified as customers select toppings of their choice. The pizza is then baked very quickly in a extremely hot oven. The pizza is done in 3 minutes. This is hard to beat as you make your own decisions and waiting time is not an issue. One of their motto’s is “Simple Food for Complex Times”. MOD has a menu of what they call their top 10 and you can choose one these pizza’s and modify it as a you want or you can build your own pizza from a long list of sauces and ingredients. I think this is a unique idea as I have not seen this approach before in a pizza restaurant. You can order online by cr...

Almost Speechless Sunday - Pappas Bros. Steak Lover's Paradise    The above pictures were taken of the steak display case at Pappas Bros Steakhouse in Houston. We had date night last night and ventured into the City of Houston. Majority of the time we stay home on Saturday evening. We stayed at a fairly new Hyatt Regency on Sage so we would not have to drive home with all the Saturday night drunks who would be on the road and we used Uber back and forth to and from the restaurant. Yolanda is a Hyatt Diamond which always gives us nice perks!  As you can see Pappas has numerous different steaks to choose from and enjoy. We split in a bone in prime ribeye plus three excellent side dishes. It was delicious. A collection of gift cards helped pay for our dinner. If you or someone you know are...
